Financial questions that need an answer

my mother’s land lord was recieving mail from attorneys and we asked him if their was a problem and he told us no. the next day he calls and says that “if she can” could she pay from the next two months of rent because he refused to pay for insurance on the house because they had up the price. we gave him the rent for every month before, were not behind so we dont understand why he cant pay it now and were all the money went if he wasnt paying for it. my father thinks we should just move because he doesnt trust him and thinks if we pay him we still might have to move out anyway. i think my mother should pay (cause she doesnt want to move) and sue he if he doesnt come through. but what do you think or the safest thing to do is?
we’ve only lived in the house for 2 1/2 years now and my mother wants to buy the home now but i dont think she can finacially pull all the way through
