Financial questions that need an answer

I’ve already filed my 2007 tax return on 01/30/08. However, i haven’t received a refund nor any contacts from the IRS since then. I did call the hot-line a few weeks ago and was told that my file had had got an error which would lead to something called “referral”. (they coudn’t figure out the error}.
I dont quite get what this program is, exactly. So if anybody gets a sense ’bout this particular program, please help me out. Thx for your consideration.
